First Night Out

March 28, 2011

We are on our way!  One of the advantages of traveling small is getting to enjoy the older state parks which do not have accomodations for the larger fifth wheels and motor homes. Though many have added large, level pull-throughs, budget considerations have not allowed the improvements everywhere. We are looking forward to being in state parks and Corp of Engineers sites no matter the size limits.

After a short travel afternoon taking us around the outskirts of Nashville, we enjoy entering a wilderness destination about 30 miles west of the city.

At the park headquarters, an albino deer was on display.

Also a cute (stuffed) red fox.

Isabel checks things out. We're on the right track!

Ahh. Refreshing nature.

Flat Stanley ran to the creek as soon as we parked just feet from the water.

Preparing for a rest. The running stream is right beyond that back window.

Soon thereafter.

Walking the grounds.

And we think we are small. This Scamp is 13'. Two women were enjoying the chill though they had hoped for more warmth on their vacation from Michigan.

We ARE relaxed!
